Pokémon Go now offers all Eevee evolutions. Here are the different methods to obtain them.
Eevee is one of the most popular creatures in the Pokémon franchise, and it’s easy to see why. This adorable little ball of fur has no less than 8 evolutions (affectionately nicknamed “evolutions”), each one more cute than the last.
But what are the tips for acquiring them? There are four different techniques: the classic evolution, the Buddy functionality, the use of a Lure and the nickname trick, the latter being the easiest to apply.
To put all the chances on your side to find an Eevee that meets your expectations before evolving it, our recommendation is to go in search of an Eevee nest near you. As soon as you have located this nest, do not hesitate to make frequent visits in order to catch a number of them and select the most promising ones.

The Eevee nickname trick in Pokémon Go
Eevee is the Pokémon with the most evolutions
Before exploring other techniques, you can definitely get an evolution using the nickname trick. However, this method is only possible once for each type of evolution.
To rename your Eevee, simply click on the pencil icon next to its name in the “Pokémon” menu. You need to give it a very specific name to get the evolution you want, so make sure you enter it correctly before clicking “Evolve” .

These nicknames are not there by chance since they come from the Pokémon anime! Now that you know them all, here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Catch an Eevee (try to get one with good stats)
- Click on your Eevee through the Pokémon screen
- Next to the name “Eevee” there is a pencil icon, click on it
- Change the name to the appropriate nickname
- Restart the Pokémon Go app to make sure the nickname is saved
- Use 25 Eevee Candy (or Super Candy) to start the evolution
This trick unfortunately only works once per nickname. Therefore, once you have evolved an Eevee using one of these nicknames, if you use the same nickname again, the next evolution will be determined by the classic conditions given by the game and the nickname will therefore not have more effect.
How to get Aquali, Voltali and Pyroli in Pokémon Go
The first generation of Eevolutions are the easiest to obtain… provided you have a little luck!
Once you’ve used the nickname for a single occasion, you’ll need to perform another method for every other Eevolution thereafter. For Aquali, Voltali and Pyroli, you need a little luck…
Unfortunately, there is no sure way to guarantee that you will get one of these three creatures. Indeed, it is completely random when you click on “Evolve” . Certainly you will get one of the evolutions of the first generation, but you cannot choose which one.
This means that you will either have to be lucky to get the one you want on the first try, or catch several Eevees and try your luck several times, for 25 Candies per attempt.
How to get Mentali and Noctali in Pokémon Go
Eevee evolves into Mentali and Noctali depending on the time of day
Although the evolutions of the first generation are random, you can guarantee yourself a Mentali or a Noctali thanks to a trick other than that of the nickname. However, the process is a little more complicated.
To do this, we have to go back to the second generation and the Pokémon Gold and Silver versions. Rather than an evolving Stone, it was the time of day that determined Eevee’s evolution. Evolving it during the night (6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. game time) offered a Noctali. Conversely, the other 14 hours of the day caused an evolution into Mentali.
The method is relatively similar in Pokémon GO. First, make sure that the Eevee you want to evolve is your Buddy Pokémon and that it has found two Candies.
Then you will have to walk 10 km with him. If the time of day in the game is between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m., you will get a Noctali. If it is between 4:01 a.m. and 5:59 p.m., you will have a Mentali.
How to get Givrali and Phyllali in Pokémon Go
With a Lure Module, Eevee will evolve into Givrali or Phyllali
Two more “Eevolutions” were added during the fourth generation of Pokémon. These are Plant-type Phyllali and Ice-type Givrali.
Like Mentali and Noctali, you can evolve your Eevee into one or the other without using the nickname trick. Just make sure you have an Eevee with 25 Candies in stock.
Next, purchase a Mossy Lure Module or an Icy Lure Module. You will quickly understand that if you want a Phyllali, you will have to use the Mossy Lure on a PokéStop and if you want a Frostlid, use an Icy Lure. Once the object is used, all you have to do is evolve your little bushy critter!
How to get Nymphali in Pokémon Go
Eevee will only evolve into Nymphali with its Best Friend!
For Nymphali, you will have to make Eevee your Buddy again, just like Mentali and Noctali. But this time, evolution is not a question of distance but of Heart.
After gaining Best Friend status, you should be able to turn him into a Nymphali. This is no easy feat, so be prepared to put in the time.
