Hunter x Hunter creator Togashi keeps teasing imminent return

As the creator Yoshihiro Togashi continues to drop hints of a completed chapter, the return of Hunter x Hunter seems to be drawing near.

Despite the release of Chapter 400 in late 2022, Hunter x Hunter has been on indefinite hiatus since then. This is due to Yoshihiro’s ongoing health issues which have made it difficult for him to maintain a consistent schedule for releasing new chapters. As a result, he has only been able to provide sporadic updates on the progress of the series.

However, that has changed in recent times. From May 1, 2024, Yoshihiro has shared six teasers of his progress on Hunter x Hunter Chapter 401. Each of these teasers has featured a similar element: numbered pages of gridded paper for manga, indicating that he is making progress.

Based on his most recent update, as of the time of writing on May 6, 2024, Gon and his friends are prepared for the next chapter, totaling to 17 pages. Although there is no confirmed release date for the upcoming Hunter x Hunter chapter, fans are eagerly consuming the regular updates.

The responses are flooded with joyful memes, as individuals experience a sense of relief from receiving additional content from the beloved story. Currently, receiving updates from Yoshihiro is satisfactory considering his current state.

Over the years, Hunter x Hunter has garnered significant praise. The story has been adapted into two anime shows, with the second one, which debuted in 2011, being widely regarded as one of the greatest anime series of all time.

While it is highly likely that we will receive new manga releases in the near future, the chances of the anime returning seem slim. The previous season concluded neatly in 2019, marking the end of an eight-year run at that time.

However, if you had asked me a year ago if we would receive any additional Hunter x Hunter content, I would have been doubtful.
