In response to the backlash, Katchii took to her Discord channel the following day to offer an explanation. She revealed that she had been drinking during the event and has since decided to abstain from alcohol in the future.
“What I did was stupid, and if there’s anything I learned from this, it’s that I cannot handle alcohol even in the slightest — I’m quitting, ” she admitted. Katchii expressed regret over her actions, stating, “I was trying to be funny, but obviously I was insensitive and just plain dumb.”
She further detailed her struggle with the pressures of being a public figure, sharing, “Now that I’m a public figure, I should be more responsible for what I say and do… it is hard being online, especially when you’re constantly compared and criticized for every single thing you do.”
