Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 Spoilers Reveal Miguel’s True Powers

While Miguel made an unexpected return in the last chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, the spoilers for chapter 255 of the manga allow us to learn more about the master of plagues, in particular by lifting the veil on his true powers.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga surprised fans again with the unexpected arrival of Miguel. He first appeared in the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, being confronted by the famous Satoru Gojo. The character was present during the Parade of Plagues, a terrorist attack initiated by Suguru Geto, and which included several other masters of plagues.

However, despite having so many enemies, Gojo knew that the only one who posed a threat to them was Miguel. Although Miguel was nowhere near Gojo’s level, his role was to hold him back until Geto attacked Yuta Okkotsu. And the fact is that Miguel had fulfilled his role perfectly.

Indeed, he managed to hold out for several minutes against Gojo, which is clearly not given to everyone. Additionally, in the official guide, Gege Akutami himself confirmed that Miguel is “strong” . After so many years, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 255 finally reveals Miguel’s powers and what makes him terrifying. Warning: this article contains spoilers for chapter 255 of Jujutsu Kaisen!

What are Miguel’s powers in Jujutsu Kaisen?

According to chapter 255 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Miguel’s powers are mainly based on his physical abilities and his spell, called “Hakuna Lana”.

Although Miguel appeared on the cover of Chapter 33 and was briefly mentioned in a flashback, Chapter 254 marks his official entry into the main story. He arrives just in time to save Ui Ui from Sukuna. Chapter 255 is not officially released yet, but it features his fight with the King of Scourges.

During the fight, Miguel easily dodges Sukuna’s continuous attacks. Miguel’s spell, “Hakuna Lana,” allows his body to find the ideal rhythm for dodging, while improving his physical abilities. Note, however, that the name of his spell may differ in the official translation.

In a brief flashback we see Gojo, Yuta and Miguel. Gojo explains Miguel’s fate to Yuta, saying that it allows him to improve and weaken both himself and the opponent without resorting to Territory Expansion. He adds that while it’s a useful technique, it’s not really powerful. On the other hand, Gojo admits that Miguel’s physical abilities are terrifying, since he was able to test them during their hand-to-hand confrontation.

Gojo also reveals that 99% of the exorcists are Japanese, all of whom use occult energy to strengthen themselves. However, Miguel’s skeletal structure and rare muscles pose a threat compared to a Japanese exorcist.

Miguel feels offended by Gojo’s statement and accuses him of being racist. He says that there are many black people who are not athletic, and that he is special because of who he is and not because of his skin color. Gojo apologizes, and Miguel reprimands him, saying it’s okay.
