During a recent interview on ‘VIVO TV,’ Lee Hong Gi from FTISLAND openly discussed the band’s current dynamics, acknowledging a significant improvement in unity since former member Choi Jong Hoon’s departure. Hong Gi reflected on past conflicts and emphasized the band’s journey towards achieving their current state of harmony.
During the conversation, Lee Hong Gi reflected on the early days of FTISLAND and acknowledged that there were past disagreements, even over small things like meal choices. However, he made sure to highlight that those conflicts are now a thing of the past thanks to the strong bond between the current trio.
“We used to fight a lot in the past,”Hong Gi admitted, “but now, we’re all good.”He credited the streamlined decision-making process within the band, noting, “There are only three of us now, and we get along really well.”
F.T. Island vocalist Lee Hong Ki revealed that he has experienced having to bid farewell to three of his past girlfriends due to his celebrity status.
Despite the absence of Choi Jong Hoon, Lee Hong Gi conveyed his appreciation towards his current bandmates for their support and team-oriented attitude. He commented, “They are truly amazing individuals and our dynamic as a group is filled with positivity and collaboration.”
FTISLAND was initially formed as a five-member group in 2007, but has undergone significant transformations throughout the years, most notably with the departures of Choi Jong Hoon and Song Seung-hyun. However, due to Choi Jong Hoon’s involvement in the Burning Sun scandal, he was forced to leave the group and was subsequently imprisoned.
Lee Hong Gi’s remarks brought attention to FTISLAND’s ability to overcome obstacles and adjust to change, demonstrating their strengthened bond and determination to continue their musical path.
