2025 is set to be a significant year for the Western League of Legends scene, as the LCS will be dissolved to pave the way for two new Americas Leagues. The upcoming off-season promises to be filled with excitement.
Many teams may not survive this transition, particularly with the South American leagues expected to be streamlined. While we do not have clarity on which teams will join the new Americas structure, there are ongoing rumors and reports about the regions’ future. However, official announcements are not anticipated until after Worlds 2024 concludes.
Nonetheless, the off-season activity is already in full swing. It is nearly confirmed that several teams will be exiting the LCS (now transitioning to the North American league), and various roster changes are already underway.
Below is a rundown of all the roster changes and what the final teams will look like in 2025 for both the LEC and the LCS/Americas leagues.
Which LCS teams are leaving in 2025?
A report from Travis Gafford, supported by players and staff from both organizations, indicates that NRG and Immortals will be leaving. While Immortals has struggled in the LCS for years, NRG’s departure is notable as they have only been back in the league for a year and a half. The LCS teams set to transition into the new professional League of Legends structure include:
- 100 Thieves
- Cloud9
- Dignitas
- FlyQuest
- Shopify Rebellion
- Team Liquid
At this point, it remains unclear which teams will represent the North or South American leagues. CBLOL and LLA are currently omitted from consideration due to a lack of available information about which teams will secure spots in the South American conference or the final two spots in NA.
