Marvel Rivals, having launched recently, is still in its inaugural season but has already sparked conversations among players about certain gameplay issues, especially those arising at the conclusion of matches.

In a game as multifaceted as Marvel Rivals, encountering user interface (UI) complications is an almost inevitable experience. From the in-game HUD to the main menu and beyond, players have an abundance of features to interact with, which can lead to an overwhelming experience.

The end-of-match phase has been particularly problematic, with numerous players voicing their frustrations over accidental clicks that lead to unwanted interruptions. The community is now actively urging developers to reconsider some design choices.

Player Feedback: A Demand for Improved Highlight Navigation

Following a match, players are presented with their performance statistics, including recognition for the MVP and the opportunity to view highlights of standout plays. However, the positioning of these highlights next to the upvote button has sparked considerable annoyance among the community.

One frustrated player on the Marvel Rivals subreddit stated, “Please make it easier to upvote quickly and way harder to watch a highlight. I literally never want to watch a highlight, unless maybe, it was my own or I suspect someone of cheating.”

This sentiment was echoed by others, with additional comments highlighting the frequency of accidental clicks on the highlight button. Compounding this issue is the fact that the highlights are unskippable, forcing players to endure a lengthy replay of another player’s actions if they accidentally clicked the button.

Fortunately, some players have proposed solutions to streamline the experience. One suggested relocating the highlight option to the scoreboard, where it would be accessible by pressing ‘tab’ and selecting a character’s face. This adjustment would allow players to view highlights only when they wish to analyze performance, such as understanding an MVP’s KDA.

The community resonated with this suggestion, emphasizing a collective desire to only view highlights at opportune moments rather than being obligated to witness replays after a match. The fact that console players have a distinct button for this feature highlights the inconvenience faced by PC users, who often misclick instead.

As community members continue to advocate for changes, the need to enhance user experience in Marvel Rivals has become more apparent. Adjusting the layout of the highlight button away from critical gameplay features could minimize accidental interactions and enhance overall satisfaction.
