The dates of May 30-31 will forever hold a special place in the heart of Min Hee-jin, the creator of “NewJeans,”as she received positive news after more than a month of disagreements with HYBE. Not only did the court rule in her favor to prevent HYBE from dismissing her, but Min Hee-jin also received overwhelming support from the public after her second press conference.
During the May 31st afternoon broadcast of “Music Bank”, NewJeans stood out by surpassing aespa with their song “How Sweet”and securing first place with 9,836 points. Despite being caught in the midst of the ongoing “battle”between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, aespa graciously showed their support by applauding and even patting NewJeans on the back in encouragement.
Simultaneously, this installment of “Music Bank” also incited a dispute regarding NewJeans supposedly showing a lack of respect towards Eunchae, the youngest member of LE SSERAFIM. Specifically, towards the conclusion of NewJeans’ acceptance speech, there was a prolonged pause and Eunchae was observed checking if the NewJeans members had concluded their remarks.

Just as Eunchae was about to start talking, Danielle from NewJeans unintentionally interrupted to express gratitude towards CEO Min Hee-jin. This action was perceived by many as disrespectful to LE SSERAFIM as it “cut off”their senior. Despite Eunchae being younger than certain members of NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM debuted earlier and are therefore regarded as seniors.
Despite the initial belief that this was a misunderstanding, there are numerous opinions that suggest otherwise. Fans of NewJeans have pointed out that the incident was simply a mishap due to both idols not being able to see each other, resulting in an awkward situation. Additionally, some have mentioned that the two groups had a cute interaction backstage at Music Bank, further proving that there was no intention of disrespect from NewJeans.
