The Straw Hats barely find themselves in trouble when a mysterious sea monster attacks them. On the other hand, Tashigi takes care of the children from the Punk Hazard arc that the crew and Luffy saved. The children are undergoing treatment, and Mocha notices that they have shrunk.

On the other hand, Helmeppo and other SWORD members ask Rear Admiral Grus to join them in the rescue mission. Naturally, Grus is worried, considering how dangerous Hachinosu, the headquarters of the Blackbeard Pirates, is.

Luffy’s crew then takes refuge on a strange island. Bonney asks him about the unusual expression on his wanted poster. Luffy says this is the form he takes when he is free. Bonney later reveals that they are on a government island, Egghead. The Vegapunk research lab is based here, and the island itself is supposedly 500 years ahead in terms of technology.

As the Straw Hats consider their next move, a mysterious girl emerges from a giant robot and introduces herself as Dr. Vegapunk.
