Pabst Blue Ribbon is setting the stage for an epic fusion of beer and kaiju fandom with the introduction of an enormous 99-pack of beer, produced in collaboration with the iconic creature, Godzilla.
Recognized as the King of Monsters, Godzilla is an iconic figure in cinema, while Pabst Blue Ribbon aspires to claim its own title as the King of Beer. This inventive partnership was announced on January 15, features the limited-edition 99-pack, and includes cans adorned with unique artwork depicting legendary creatures from Toho, such as Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla.
Rachel Keeton, Pabst Blue Ribbon’s Senior Brand Director, stated, “It’s not our style to spend millions of dollars for a few seconds of airtime during the big game. Instead, we’re getting in on the post-season action in a way our drinkers can have some fun with. The Godzilla 99pk is here to loudly crash tailgates and watch parties everywhere.”
With the anticipation of the Super Bowl in February, this collaboration arrives at the perfect moment for fans looking to stock up on their favorite beverage, ensuring they have enough beer to enjoy during the NFL playoffs and the main event.
Unleashing the Godzilla 99-Pack
The artwork for each can was created by the talented artist known as ATTACK Peter, who previously collaborated with Pabst for other projects that featured his monster art on around 60 million PBR cans. He expressed his astonishment upon learning about the 99-pack, humorously recalling, “A WHAT pack??”
Peter exclaimed, “The 99 pack is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and I knew they were going to MOVE, so I incorporated some designs of Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla soaring into action. And don’t underestimate the Mothra larva crawling its way onto the package; they’re no strangers to mixing it up with the biggest bads.”
However, beer enthusiasts should act quickly; Pabst has only produced 4, 000 of these unique 99-packs. Their sheer size warrants a vehicle with ample space for transport!

Each 99-pack carries a retail price of $99.99, which translates to just about a dollar per can—a reasonable price for such a unique offering. Plus, it humorously lends itself to re-enacting the classic rhyme “99 bottles of beer on the wall, ” albeit with cans instead!
