A new feature in World of Warcraft focused on housing has resulted in unintended bans for some players on Pinterest. Blizzard Entertainment has responded to this surprising situation.
The much-anticipated housing feature is set to launch with the Midnight expansion on March 2. However, players with early access have already begun exploring this new addition to the game.
In celebration of this feature, Blizzard introduced an integration with Pinterest. This allows players to utilize the Pin-o-Matic Camera, making it easy to share in-game screenshots. Those who participate can earn a Feat of Strength as well as the toy itself in-game.
Blizzard’s Response to Pinterest Bans
Despite the excitement surrounding the new feature, the rollout has not been without complications. Numerous reports from players indicate that their Pinterest accounts have faced suspension after they linked them to World of Warcraft and shared a screenshot from the game.

The community’s reactions, discussed extensively on Reddit and various forums, highlight the frustration many players are experiencing. For instance, one user shared that after posting just “one single picture” of their in-game house, their decade-old Pinterest account was suspended.
Another player recounted that despite creating a new account specifically for sharing their WoW housing experiences, all three of their accounts were banned shortly after linking to the game.
Many affected users have submitted appeals in a bid to regain access to their accounts, yet most have had little to no success up to this point. The underlying cause of these bans is still unclear; one user speculated that a third-party spam filter used by Pinterest failed to account for this new integration, although this theory remains unverified.
In light of the burgeoning complaints, Blizzard has acknowledged the issue, announcing that they are in communication with Pinterest. A representative stated, “Until it is solved, we’ve disabled the function. We’ll monitor the situation and enable it again when it is safe to do so, ” as detailed in their communication on the forums.
While these challenges persist, the integration between World of Warcraft and Pinterest holds potential, especially considering that the platform is popular for users seeking aesthetic inspiration. Blizzard even maintains a dedicated World of Warcraft account on Pinterest, where they showcase various housing themes.
