Pokémon Go players can’t agree on this event

Chansey Community Day has divided the Pokémon Go community, with some calling it particularly “tasteless” while others saying it was ultimately a “successful event” for all.

Pokémon Go events have always been and always will be a controversial experience for many players. Every time an event or Community Day launches, players rush to capture their beloved pocket monsters, with thousands hunting for shinys, Hundos, or a rare mix of both.

Unfortunately, Community Days aren’t always as successful as Niantic had hoped, which was the case with the recent Chansey event. Now, many players are criticizing the event, calling it “tasteless” and “sucky.” However, not all players are on the same page.

“Lousy” Chansey Community Day divides the Pokémon Go community

Sharing their frustration on Reddit, one Pokémon Go player asked the community: “So, did anyone actually like Chansey Community Day?”

“I thought this Community Day was very dull,” one player explained, going on to say that “Simply Chansey doesn’t bring anything exciting when it comes to devoting yourself to an event like Community Day because the Pokémon doesn’t ‘is good for neither PVP nor Raids, or both.’

Finding Community Day relatively boring, the poster suggested how Niantic could have made the event a little less “sucky”, explaining: “If it had been double the XP on capture, it would have been better since it was easy to make excellent throws on it.”

The player’s thoughts were certainly shared by many in the community, but not all agreed. In fact, some found the opposite, calling the event “pretty successful” and stating how “Today was a win” and well worth all the time they spent exploring.

“My husband and I spent 3 hours together. We each captured 14 shinys. And we were able to enjoy a beautiful winter day. All things considered, today was a win” commented one user, explaining how it had been a great day for their shiny hunt, which is a key aspect of most Community Days.

However, not all fans loved the day, with one highlighting how “it made me realize how tedious hunting for candy and hatching eggs is, I wasn’t even capturing any Lucky, scrounging for candy was much more tempting.” Community Days are prime time for candy hunting, and many use this time to hatch tons of eggs and capture as many as they can so they can evolve any Shundos or Hundos they get – but this can sometimes feel tedious, as it did for this player.

“I had a lot of fun today. I haven’t enjoyed it this much in a long time,” one user added, revealing how much fun they had with the event.

While it hasn’t been for everyone, there’s still a lot to say about Chansey Community Day, and many fans are hoping that it shows a rise in popularity for this event and this Pokémon.
