A Pokémon Go player has shared his mother’s journey in the game and revealed her nickname “Queen Meltan”as well as her incredible commitment to a very specific part of the game.
People play Pokémon Go in different ways. Whether it’s battling in the GO Battle League, capturing Legendary Pokémon, or finding shiny ones for a shiny Pokédex, one of the best aspects of Pokémon is that everyone can play in their own way.
Some players take this to the extreme. With many fan-based rulesets, there are some very difficult tasks hidden in Pokémon, should players choose to take on such a challenge.
A Pokémon Go player shares his challenge, or rather his mother’s challenge, and reveals that it’s possible that no one in the world has captured more Meltan than this player’s mother.
Pokémon Go’s “Meltan Queen” asks if anyone has caught more Meltan than her
Pokémon Go player u/AzureDiamond51 shared a post on Reddit, with the comment “My mom is curious if anyone has caught more meltans than her”alongside a photo proudly displaying the information that the player has captured a total of 8184 Meltan.

The player also shares an additional comment, saying, “Also interesting to note, only two of them were hundos. She’s been playing for almost a year and she’s already level 45, so that’s probably a contributing factor.”
Other Pokémon Go fans are having a lot of fun in the comments, with many amazed by this incredible, if quite niche, accomplishment. One comment asks, “Wtf, more than 8k Meltans? Is she the Meltan specialist?” To which the original author responds, “She calls herself the ‘Meltan Queen’ lol.”
Another player asks a very important question, saying, “Curious how much candy she has for them?” The answer, given by the original poster, is “She has 36,423 candies and 25,971 XL candies (that slightly terrifies me lol).”
It’s a wild feat any way you slice it, and an impressive commitment to a part of Pokémon Go that many players forget about.
One person even comments, asking “How?!” before the person behind the post explains, “She does a mystery box almost every other day, they give out a lot of Meltan. She has a lot of fun doing them (I find them tedious, so I give her my phone and she does it for me lol)”
While this isn’t the most difficult task in the Pokémon world, it’s still something to be proud of. One user confirms this, saying “Dang, she caught more meltans than I caught Pokémon.”
Finally, it seems that the Meltan Queen is not the only Meltan fan, as another user adds, “I asked my father (80 years old) to check, he captured 8028… Your Mother is still there queen but he’s close 😀” Keep it up Queen Meltan, don’t let anyone beat you.
