Possible Ending for My Hero Academia: Deku’s Journey to Master One For All and Defeat AFO

Despite his efforts to rescue Tenko Shimura in the My Hero Academia manga, Deku ultimately had to give up One For All and all of his other Quirks, appearing to return to the Quirkless state he was in when the series began.

After all of Deku’s Quirks were transferred to TomurAFO (Tomura Shigaraki’s body with All For One’s mind), fans are starting to acknowledge that their concerns about the protagonist losing his Quirks permanently may have been justified.

Despite this, a fan theory circulating on social media proposes that Deku’s loss of Quirks may not be permanent. It is speculated that the conclusion of the series will involve him reclaiming One For All from the Demon Lord.

My Hero Academia Fan Theory: Deku Will Regain His Quirks from All For One

It has been suggested by @TheGameAllStar on X that followers of the My Hero Academia manga may have been led to believe that Deku could permanently lose his One For All Quirk by the conclusion of the series. Nevertheless, this could all be a mere misdirection, as Deku’s loss of Quirks is likely to be temporary.

According to the user, Horikoshi made the decision to have Deku temporarily lose his Quirks in order to create a fairer fight for the other characters. Considering the immense strength of One For All, it is likely that none of the other characters would have been able to contribute or even keep up with Deku and All For One if he still had his Quirks. Therefore, their presence on the battlefield would have been meaningless as Deku would have been the sole contender against All For One’s power.

Horikoshi allowed the other heroes to take the spotlight for a brief period by having Deku temporarily lose his Quirks. However, Deku ultimately regains his Quirks and deals the final blow to All For One.

According to the user, One For All and Deku’s other Quirks are likely still present. This was hinted at in My Hero Academia chapter 419 when the Danger Sense Quirk activated twice. However, neither Deku nor All For One noticed this occurrence.

It is crucial to keep in mind that a vestige never truly vanishes, as has been consistently observed. This assertion is supported by the appearances of both All For One and Star and Stripe, who reemerged after it was believed they had vanished.

In addition, Deku has previously stated that he required the Gearshift Quirk in order to match Tomura Shigaraki’s rapid pace. If TomurAFO were to now steal Quirks from Deku’s comrades, the situation would only worsen. If this scenario were to unfold in future chapters, it would be illogical for Deku, who still possesses remnants of One For All, to ultimately defeat All For One.

Finally, it has been determined that Tenko Shimura remains alive within TomurAFO, as All For One detected a remnant of his consciousness within him. After carefully weighing all of these factors, the user arrived at a definite conclusion for their theory.

According to @TheGameAllStar, it is highly probable that the heroes will ultimately overpower TomurAFO towards the conclusion of the final battle. As the fight progresses, Tenko’s emotions are expected to resurface, leading to a renewed sense of purpose for his existence.

When Tenko reaches his breaking point, there is a chance that he could briefly regain control of his body from All For One. In that moment, he would have the opportunity to give One For All and its other Quirks back to Deku.

On this occasion, the sole distinction is that Deku had expended a portion of his power reserve within One For All, rendering his body immune to the damaging effects of utilizing 100% of its power.

Additionally, if Deku were to regain One For All and his other Quirks, it could also result in Tenko being freed from his body as the 10th user of One For All. This would fulfill the protagonist’s ultimate goal of saving Tenko. With the combined strength of One For All and his companions, Deku would then successfully defeat All For One and put an end to his reign of terror once and for all.

The user ultimately solidified their theory by restating their belief that Deku will regain his Quirks in the upcoming chapters of the My Hero Academia manga. They argued that it would be too harsh for a Hero like him to remain Quirkless once again.
