Report: Apple Intelligence’s Major Siri Updates Delayed Until 2025

According to a report, Apple Intelligence will be made available to eligible iPhones later this year, but the updated version of Siri will not be included in the initial release.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest weekly newsletter, the complete update for ‌Siri‌ is expected to be released with iOS 18.4 in the spring of 2025.

According to Gurman, the Siri features are expected to undergo beta testing for developers in January and will then be released to the public in the spring. This will be included in the upcoming iOS 18.4 upgrade that is currently being developed.

The beta version will provide early access to the new Siri for interested iPhone users before its public release. However, enrollment in the iOS 18 beta program is required to use it.

At the WWDC keynote this year, Apple Intelligence was the standout feature, showcasing the revamped Siri. This upgraded version of Siri boasts a wider range of capabilities, such as controlling actions within apps, comprehending on-screen content, and making decisions based on context.

Gurman remains optimistic that the new Siri design and ChatGPT integration will be released sometime this year. While they may not be included in the initial launch of iOS 18, it is possible that they will be added in a later update, potentially in 2024.

According to reports, Apple will not be launching Apple Intelligence in all 27 European Union countries because of the Digital Markets Act.

The journalist from Bloomberg disclosed on July 1 that Apple is contemplating a potential paid option for certain Apple Intelligence capabilities. This would entail a subscription-based system for extra features and increased collaborations with AI partners. In his article, Gurman asserted:

“In the future, the company may introduce a service similar to Apple Intelligence+ where users can access additional features for a monthly fee, similar to the structure of iCloud.”
