As anticipation builds for Invincible Season 4, fans should prepare for an escalation in the ongoing Viltrumite conflict. This season promises the introduction of one of the most formidable adversaries from the source material: Thragg.

The conclusion of Season 3 presented viewers with an exhilarating showdown—possibly the best fight in the series so far—between Invincible and Conquest. This intense clash showcased the relentless struggle between Earth’s mightiest hero and the menacing “Mr.10 Times Worse.”

For those thinking the tension couldn’t intensify, think again. The forthcoming season is expected to explore Omni-Man and Allen’s adventures in space, introduce the powerful character Dinosaurus, and delve deeper into Conquest’s storyline. However, it is Thragg’s entry that has fans buzzing with both excitement and trepidation.

While Robert Kirkman, the series’ creator, couldn’t disclose the actor chosen to voice Thragg, he confirmed the character’s crucial role in Season 4 during his interview with Deadline. He stated:

“Thragg is cast and will be in Season 4. So, I won’t reveal anything other than if you’ve been watching the show since Season 1, you might be like, ‘Hey, when is there going to be more Viltrumite stuff?’

“I will say that Season 4 has more Viltrumite content that you might be interested in. In Season 2, we featured exciting developments with Anissa and Nolan’s narrative. Season 3 introduced us to Conquest and continued Nolan’s arc, alongside explorations in space with Allen. Season 4 really ramps up the stakes, so fans of this aspect can expect substantial developments.”

Without revealing too much, here are a few details about Thragg: he serves as the Grand Regent of the Viltrum Empire, making him the highest authority among the Viltrumites and one of the most potent characters in the series. His influence is set to expand significantly as the story unfolds, particularly if Kirkman proceeds with plans to adapt the complete storyline.

“Many of the creative decisions made in Seasons 1 through 3 were designed with the potential for the entire comic arc in mind, ” Kirkman elaborated.“This foresight ensures that as we approach Seasons 5 and 6, if that opportunity arises, the groundwork has been effectively laid and everything is well planned.”

Fans should stay alert for casting announcements, with Jon Bernthal often cited as a popular choice for the role.
