SEVENTEEN Global Youth Support Program Launched with UNESCO After $1 Million Donation

On August 13th, Pledis Entertainment announced that SEVENTEEN had started accepting applications for the Global Youth Grant Scheme in collaboration with UNESCO, in celebration of International Youth Day, which took place on August 12th.

The Global Youth Grant Scheme is a program that offers financial assistance, training, and guidance to empower young individuals in their efforts to make a positive impact on the world. SEVENTEEN had previously pledged to donate $1 million towards this initiative after being appointed as UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassadors in June.

As a part of this endeavor, SEVENTEEN and UNESCO have jointly introduced a fresh program called Going Together – For Youth Creativity & Well-Being. The aim of this program is to aid projects that boost youth self-assurance and fortitude, establish creative youth communities, and enhance the mental well-being of young individuals, all through the channels of music, arts, and sports.

There is excitement surrounding whether SEVENTEEN, known for promoting messages of unity and optimism through their music and stage performances, will continue to uphold the principles of Going Together. In a video introducing the Global Youth Grant Scheme on UNESCO’s official YouTube channel, the group members enthusiastically declared, “As UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassadors, we are honored to launch this program for youth worldwide. SEVENTEEN will stand with you and journey alongside you towards achieving your aspirations.”

In addition, SEVENTEEN has continuously worked together with UNESCO to promote the significance of education on a global scale. As the first K-pop musicians to be selected as UNESCO’s Youth Goodwill Ambassadors, they were given a special session at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum last November at the organization’s headquarters in Paris. During this session, they delivered a speech and entertained the audience for over an hour.
