The release date for chapter 427 of My Hero Academia was July 8, 2024. This chapter continued the epilogue and focused on Spinner, who made claims that disproved Shigaraki’s death before achieving his goals as a villain.
The primary objective of the chapter was to highlight the broadcast program in which the opinions of the local civilians were sought regarding Tomura Shigaraki. Although many did not view him as a good person, there were some who were curious about his background without feeling any sympathy towards him.
Meanwhile, Deku found himself in Spinner’s room, engaging in a heated discussion about Shigaraki’s death. Spinner confidently declared that Shigaraki was his idol and mocked Deku for being the one to end his life. Despite his demise, Shigaraki had always aspired to be a hero since his childhood, and it was a small consolation that he was able to fulfill that role for someone before his passing.

Exploring the Origins of Tomura Shigaraki’s Heroic Journey in My Hero Academia Chapter 427
The latest installment of My Hero Academia, chapter 427, opened with the airing of the program “Who was Tomura Shigaraki?”where the citizens of the city were given a platform to express their thoughts on the infamous villain. The majority of the participants expressed dislike towards Shigaraki, with some even questioning why he had not chosen to change his ways.
Despite some people showing interest in learning about the origins of Shigaraki, they were still unwilling to pity him. They believed that pitying him would only create a new successor of All for One.
In the hospital, Spinner was visited by Deku, who came to deliver Shigaraki’s final message. Spinner was unable to fully understand the significance of these words, but upon hearing Izuku’s message, he became overcome with emotion. He passionately expressed how much Shigaraki meant to him, as he was not only his inspiration, but also the light of his life.
Shortly thereafter, Spinner’s quirk went into overdrive and the doctors were prepared to interrupt the meeting. However, Izuku intervened and convinced them to let Spinner calm down on his own. Once he had calmed down, Spinner expressed his desire to write a book about Shigaraki to ensure he would not be forgotten. Deku assured Spinner that he would always remember him as a hero before leaving the room.
Ever since he was a young boy, Tenko Shimura had a strong desire to become a hero. He longed to be the source of hope and inspiration for others, but his aspirations were shattered when his quirk manifested. He unintentionally caused the death of his own family and was then perceived as the Symbol of Fear by society, all part of All for One’s manipulation.
In chapter 418, when Deku delved into Tomura Shigaraki’s past, the villain briefly regained his composure and came to the realization that he needed to become a hero, but for the villains. This was because they were his friends, the ones who had accepted and cared for Tomura in a way that no one else could.
When Deku visited Tomura’s origins, he saw that Tomura’s love for the League of Villains ran deep within his heart. In the end, Tomura achieved his dream of becoming a hero for Spinner, who deeply admired him for his true self, before passing away.
