Star Wars Outlaws: Setting and Timeline Explanation

The game Star Wars Outlaws expands upon the well-known sci-fi universe by immersing you in the criminal underworld of the galaxy. However, many fans may be wondering where exactly this game falls in the overall timeline. To provide some perspective on potential appearances of familiar characters, here is the setting of Star Wars Outlaws.

In 2024, Star Wars Outlaws is expected to be a highly anticipated game, providing a unique perspective on the darker aspects of the galaxy. While games such as Jedi: Survivor focus on the time period between the original and prequel trilogies, many may be curious about where Ubisoft’s upcoming title falls within the timeline.

Star Wars Outlaws Timeline

Star Wars Outlaws takes place during the time period between 3 ABY (After Battle of Yavin) and 4 ABY. This places the game in the time frame after the events of The Empire Strikes Back and before Return of the Jedi. The Battle of Yavin, which resulted in the destruction of the first Death Star by Luke Skywalker, marks the end of the conflict and therefore the game is set approximately three years after the events of A New Hope.

During this time, Han Solo is encased in Carbonite, making it unlikely for him to make a physical appearance other than the frozen outline shown in the trailers. However, Lando Calrissian is set to make an appearance as one of the Experts who will assist Kay Vess in gaining new abilities on her journey.

Han Solo is set to appear, but he’s still trapped after Episode V.

In the meantime, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and their droid and Wookie companions are on a quest to find Han throughout the galaxy, providing a possibility for you to encounter these legendary characters during your journey.

Despite being set in the world of Star Wars Outlaws, the Galactic Civil War continues to rage on, evident from the presence of numerous Stormtroopers and Imperials who act as the in-game wanted system.

During this time, Palpatine and Darth Vader have also started constructing the second Death Star, so it wouldn’t be unexpected to come across mentions or allusions to the Empire’s scheme.
