Windows 11 Introduces “Share with Copilot”Feature

The latest version of Windows 11 has introduced an innovative functionality called “Share with Copilot”. This feature, accessible from the Taskbar, enables users to share applications with Copilot Vision, facilitating AI-driven inquiries regarding the app in use. If this new feature does not align with your preferences, you can seamlessly disable it with a few steps, which I will detail in this guide.
Understanding the “Share with Copilot”Feature
The “Share with Copilot” button appears when you hover over apps in the Taskbar. This functionality grants immediate access to share the respective application, enhancing your interaction through AI technology. Notably, this feature is not limited to devices equipped with Copilot+; Microsoft ensures its accessibility to all users, leveraging the cloud connection of the Copilot interface.
Guide to Disable the “Share with Copilot”Feature
If you find that the “Share with Copilot”feature does not serve your needs, it can be turned off easily. Here’s a step-by-step guide to remove the button from the app thumbnail in the Taskbar:

Launch Settings on your Windows 11 device.

Select Personalization from the options available.

Navigate to the Taskbar section on the right panel.

Click on Taskbar behaviors.

From the “Share any window from the taskbar with” option, choose None.

Open the Copilot app on your device.

Click on your profile icon, and then select Settings from the dropdown.

Disable the “Start Vision from app in taskbar” toggle under the “Copilot Vision” section.

(Optional) To completely disable Copilot Vision, turn off the “Highlights” toggle switch.
After completing these steps, the functionality to share applications from the Taskbar with Copilot Vision will be fully disabled on your Windows 11 system.
