Lang’s portrayal of the complex antagonist in the Don’t Breathe films has captivated audiences. While he continues to define villains in cinema, notably in the upcoming action film Sisu: Road to Revenge, his journey through these roles adds layers to his characters. When prompted about the future of Don’t Breathe 3, Lang noted, “I do”believe it will come to fruition. He elaborated, mentioning that while it remains uncertain, there is a collective momentum towards its realization.“It’s a way off, and it’s not a certainty, but I do think that we are all kind of crawling in the same direction, ”he stated.

For Lang, the aim is not just to release a sequel but to ensure that the third film completes the trilogy’s narrative arc effectively. He emphasized the importance of getting it right: “I know a lot of people would like it done within the structure of the business, so it’s a question of getting it right. Because the first one was perfect. The second one, I think, is very, very cool. Somehow, the third one needs to tie it all up. It needs to make it truly a trilogy. So I hope it’ll happen. I think it will.”

As for the potential plot of the third film, discussions surrounding the reunion of characters from the original installment have surfaced. Writer-director Rodo Sayagues hinted at the possibility of bringing back Rocky, the protagonist from the first film, to join Lang’s character, Norman Nordstrom, in a narrative that could delve deeper into unfinished business. Sayagues remarked, “If something is true about the first movie, is that there’s no closure on both ends. There was no closure for the story of Norman and there’s no closure for the story of Rocky, they both got away with a crime, both of them. Because Rocky stole a lot of money.”
