On Saturday, June 8, 2024, a special live stream for The Elusive Samurai anime television series featured a new promotional video and officially announced its release date in July 2024. The new trailer also revealed the exact date and time of the premiere, as well as the Japanese broadcast channels that will air the series in Japan.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the cast of The Elusive Samurai anime, including Asaki Yuikawa, Yuichi Nakamura, and Hinaki Yano, will make an appearance at a special advance screening. The event will be held in Kamakura City, Japan on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Yano, who previously hosted the live streamed special, will also be in attendance.
The Elusive Samurai anime is based on the original manga series of the same name by author and illustrator Yusei Matsui. The manga began its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2021 and is still being regularly published today.
Release Date for The Elusive Samurai Anime Announced
According to the most recent promotional video, The Elusive Samurai anime is scheduled to air on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:30 PM Japanese Standard Time (JST). The show will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV, with 26 more channels to join later. As of now, there is no confirmed information about the series’ streaming availability, both in Japan and internationally.
Yuikawa, the rookie voice actress mentioned earlier, takes on the lead role of Hojo Tokiyuki, while Nakamura joins as co-star playing Suwa Yorishige. Shizuku will be portrayed by Yano, and the rest of the cast includes Mari Hino as Kojiro, Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako, Aoi Yuki as Kazama Genba, and Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki. CloverWorks has enlisted Yuta Yamazaki as the director of the anime, with character designs by Yasushi Nishiya. Other members of the team include:

The creators of The Elusive Samurai anime have recently revealed plans for a web radio show called The Young Master of Radio. The show will feature Yuikawa and Yano as hosts, portraying their characters Hojo and Shizuku. While there is currently limited information available, the series’ official website has promised to provide more updates in the near future.
Viz Media and MANGA Plus both digitally release newly translated chapters of the manga as soon as they are available in Japan. In addition, Viz Media holds the English licensing rights for the manga, and has currently published 15 volumes, with the 16th set to release in Japan in July. Out of these 16 volumes, 11 have already been translated into English, and the 12th will be released in August.
