Shirley Raines, the esteemed founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization Beauty 2 The Streetz, known widely as Ms. Shirley, has tragically passed away at the age of 58.
Authorities discovered Raines deceased in her Henderson, Nevada home during a wellness check on Tuesday night. Reports from TMZ indicate that she was found unresponsive next to her bed. Her twin sister, Sheila, confirmed that Raines had been in good health, not on any medication, and noted that they are currently awaiting autopsy results, with no indications of foul play.

As a nonprofit organization, Beauty 2 The Streetz provides essential beauty and hygiene services to individuals residing in the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles.

Raines’s impactful work has garnered national acclaim. She was honored as CNN’s 2021 Hero of the Year and subsequently received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality in 2025.
Remarkably, just two days prior to her untimely death, Raines was seen distributing supplies to those in need from her vehicle, continuing her commitment to street outreach that she had become renowned for through her social media platforms.
