Twitch Reportedly Alerts NCMEC Over Severity of Dr Disrespect’s DMs to a Minor

According to Slasher, an industry insider, Twitch notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about Dr Disrespect’s messages to a minor due to their explicit content.

Despite widespread criticism regarding the delay in the release of this information, it has been revealed that Twitch had taken action against the Doc much earlier than was publicly acknowledged, assuming his claims are accurate.

Rod Breslau, also known as Slasher, published an article for Rolling Stone discussing the events surrounding Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban, which was leaked and caused a stir. He possesses a trove of inside knowledge on the matter.

According to Breslau’s sources, Twitch reported Dr Disrespect (also known as Guy Beahm) to the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children following his ban.

Despite Slasher’s efforts, no evidence has been found of any follow up from law enforcement or any indication that they continued with the investigation.

“I have verified with the Twitch source that they reported the incident to NCMEC, but I do not have any information regarding potential involvement of law enforcement organizations after that.”

This suggests that if a report was filed, it indicates that either no action has been taken or an investigation is currently ongoing. Despite this, Twitch has shown a willingness to pursue legal measures against individuals who have committed sexual misconduct on their platform in the past.

Only 5 days prior to Dr Disrespect’s suspension from the platform, Twitch released a statement addressing their approach to dealing with sexual misconduct. In the statement, they declared their intention to collaborate with law enforcement “where appropriate”.

At the time of writing, the content of the messages sent by Dr Disrespect is still unknown. In his statement, he mentioned that the messages to a minor were “leaning toward inappropriate,”but did not provide any further details.
