Unveiling the Saturday Night Live UK Cast

The highly anticipated cast for the UK adaptation of Saturday Night Live has been officially announced as the show prepares for its upcoming debut in March.

Having celebrated its remarkable 50-year legacy on American television, Saturday Night Live has been instrumental in catapulting numerous comedic legends into stardom. Alumni such as Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Tina Fey, and Kristen Wiig have all made their mark thanks to this iconic program.

The inaugural season will showcase 11 talented comedians: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Sheppard, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

Sky describes this exciting new spinoff as: “Broadcast live each week, with the high-energy, unpredictable spirit that has made SNL a cultural phenomenon, now filtered through a uniquely British perspective. Each episode will feature a new guest host, who will contribute their individual flair to the show, alongside a chart-topping musical act.”The episodes will be written, rehearsed, and performed within the week of airing, ensuring they remain topical and engaging. Every episode will feature key elements including an opening monologue, varying sketches, and a quintessentially British rendition of the show’s popular segment, Weekend Update.

Familiar Faces from Taskmaster

Fans of British television might recognize two cast members from the hit comedy series Taskmaster: Ania Magliano and Emma Sidi.

Ania, who participated in Season 20 of Taskmaster, shared her excitement for joining SNL UK: “I love stand-up, but the collaborative aspect with such talented comedians was a huge reason for my interest. Honestly, being a part of SNL is just surreal. The prospect of performing live on Saturday nights is incredible!”

Emma, who competed in Season 18, remarked: “I’m deeply passionate about character comedy, and I feel there’s a lack of it on British television at the moment. Growing up, my favorite shows were the likes of French & Saunders and The Fast Show.Saturday Night Live provides a fantastic opportunity to revive the spirit of that genre on TV and online.”

When Does Saturday Night Live UK Premiere?

Saturday Night Live UK is set to premiere on Sky and Now on March 21, 2026. This Sky Original will consist of six episodes, each of which will open with the iconic line: “Live from London, it’s Saturday night!”

The writing team has yet to be disclosed, and details regarding the airing of SNL UK in the US remain unconfirmed.
