In Diablo 4’s first season, titled Malignant Hearts, the theme of Malignant Powers was present. These granted players temporary access to formidable abilities, but were no longer available once the season ended. They were then replaced by Vampiric Powers.
In Season 2 of Diablo 4, Malignant Powers returned as Malignant Rings, which allowed players to obtain and equip popular powers. As Season 4 of Diablo 4 begins, here’s a guide on how to utilize these Maglinant Powers.
Diablo 4’s Malignant Powers returned during Patch 1.2.2.
Malignant Rings in Season 4
Although there were numerous original Malignant Powers featured in Season 1 of Diablo 4, only 5 have been retained and transformed into Malignant Rings for Season 2. It is likely that these 5 rings will continue to be present in Season 4 and future seasons. However, Blizzard may introduce additional Malignant Rings in the future.
There are currently several Malignant Powers available as rings in Diablo 4, including the following:
Malignant Ring | Character Class | Action |
Ring of Red Furor | Barbarian | Guarantees a critical strike of a skill after spending 100 Fury within 3 seconds. |
Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Loop | Sorcerer | Elemental damage increased by 10-15% for 4 seconds for each elemental damage dealt. |
Airidah’s Inexorable Will | Druid | Deals additional damage to enemies after casting an Ultimate Skill, pulling in distant enemies. |
Writhing Band of Trickery | Rogue | Spawns a Decoy Trap after casting a Subterfuge Skill every 12 seconds. |
Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul | Necromancer | Automatically triggers Raise Skeleton, Corpse Explosion and, Corpse Tendrills when equipped. |
If additional Malignant Powers are introduced to the game, we will make sure to include them here.
Where to Find Malignant Rings
Malignant Rings are only obtainable from the boss Echoes of Varshan and require players to battle and defeat him in order to obtain one. While acquiring a Malignant Ring is not guaranteed after defeating Varshan, they are commonly rewarded for successfully defeating him.
Despite being the final boss in Season 1 of Diablo 4, Varshan can still be summoned and battled in the current Season.
