Mark Rubin has outlined the exact gameplay changes that will be implemented in the next patch for XDefiant. These changes are expected to be significant and will greatly impact the game.
The Preseason of XDefiant is currently in progress, and while some players are eagerly anticipating the content of Season 1, others are hoping for the developers to address certain gameplay problems like bunny hopping and hit registration.
Fortunately, Mark Rubin, the Executive Producer for XDefiant, prioritizes communication by utilizing X to interact with the community, address feedback, and inform players of the shooter’s upcoming objectives.
Mark Rubin announced on June 4, 2024 that several gameplay changes will be included in the next patch. These changes will address issues such as Sniper flinch, bunny hopping, screen shake, and also include fixes for hit registration and netcode.
Ever since its release on May 21, 2024, bunny hopping has been a major concern among players of the XDefiant community. Many believe that it can be spammed too frequently and that there should be some limitations to its movement for the sake of balance.
Also, next week’s patch will be the one to look out for with a lot of gameplay changes (Sniper flinch, BH, screen shake, etc) and some hitreg/netcode changes. And remember with hitreg and netcode no “one”change will fix everything but we will keep making improvements.

In his comment on the X post, Mark Rubin addressed the ongoing issue with bunny hopping, stating, “The repetitive use of multiple jumps is not in line with our intended design.”However, Rubin and the developers still value “movement skill,”as he also acknowledged, “Jump shotting is and should remain a part of the game.”It is clear, however, that they are disappointed with how jumping is currently being utilized.
The current strength of snipers has caught the attention of the devs, who are considering implementing Sniper flinch in order to balance their power.
Rubin emphasizes that the XDefiant hit reg fixes will require multiple changes rather than a single fix. However, the development team is committed to constantly improving and implementing these changes through weekly updates until the issue is resolved.
We will ensure to address XDefiant’s upcoming patch, but in the meantime, take note of how you are not taking advantage of simple XP opportunities and when the next Double XP event is scheduled to occur.
