Your Android device can now automatically archive inactive apps.

If you carry all of your games, movies, and podcasts with you at all times, your phone may have limited storage space. Uninstalling apps is a smart way to regain storage space, but now Android will automatically archive your unused apps.

Google has introduced an auto-archive feature for Android smartphones. Once it becomes available and you opt in, your phone will “archive” the applications you use the least, reducing their internal storage footprint by up to 60%. Both the app’s icon in your launcher and the app data will be kept. If you ever want to use the app again, simply tap the icon and Google Play will redownload it.
