Horror enthusiasts recently participated in a thrilling 3K run infused with terror, all for a chance to catch an early screening of The Strangers – Chapter 3. This event is part of a growing trend among movie studios seeking to engage fans in unique and adrenaline-pumping ways.

For instance, Lionsgate previously organized a “treadmill elimination event” for fans of Stephen King, offering early access to The Long Walk. Participants had to maintain a speed of over 3 mph on treadmills for the film’s entire 108-minute duration.

The immersive race for The Strangers – Chapter 3 took place in Los Angeles, covering three kilometers—a nod to the new installments in the franchise. Participants navigated varied terrains that included fields, wooded areas, and hills, all while evading the terrifying presence of the Strangers characters lurking in the shadows.

One participant, known as Khailanonymous, shared their experience on Instagram, stating: “In honor of The Strangers 3 coming out, a horror slasher escape 3K was held where you either win or you die. And people did lose.” They described the course as “filled with dirt roads, dark woods, and broken-down carousels.” Surrounded by the scare tactics of the film’s antagonists, the event was a non-stop adrenaline rush.

Another participant, Vamp, expressed on Instagram: “I do not run for fun, but I DO RUN FOR MY LIFE!!!! In celebration of @thestrangersfilm, I completed a 3K Survival Run, and this Final Girl was making it through that finish line, or was I???” They humorously noted the motivational boost provided by the masked characters, exclaiming: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, or rather, Stranger!”

Those who survived the challenges were rewarded with a private screening of the highly anticipated film, while the rest of the audience will have the opportunity to see The Strangers – Chapter 3 upon its release on February 6, 2026.
