Episode 5 of True Detective – Night Country will be released early because of the Super Bowl

As the Super Bowl approaches, some True Detective viewers will be treated to episode 5 earlier this week.

Season 4 of True Detective is nearing its conclusion and each new episode proves more thrilling than the previous ones. The Night Country chapter is not very long, however, since it will have fewer sections than its predecessors: in total, spectators will be entitled to six episodes.

Suffice it to say that the wait for the outcome is starting to reach heights, and the next two – and last – parts of this fourth season will certainly be worth the detour, as chilly as it may be.

Except that on the way to Alaska, there is a new obstacle: the Super Bowl will take place on the night of Sunday to Monday, and it is not a small event without consequences.

The American football game is among the most important and historic in the United States: not only for the sport, but also for its entire cultural aura.

Concerts, shows, but also trailers for major blockbusters are expected around the corner: whether you are a fan of ball games or not, the Super Bowl always has an argument to attract attention. And the problem is that it will take place at the same time as the release of episode 5 of Night Country.

According to Deadline, HBO has therefore decided to bring forward the release of this penultimate episode by two days, making it available on February 9 for streaming on Max in the United States.

Nothing says, however, that France will be entitled to the same preferential treatment: for French speakers, it is on Prime Video’s Warner Pass that the series is broadcast, Max not yet being available in the territory.

All that remains is to hope that broadcasters outside the United States offer a similar service, as a later release could involve spoilers for countries not entitled to the same privilege as Max’s American subscribers.
