EXO’s Kai is set to return with his much-awaited mini-album, “Wait On Me, ” which launches on March 21. In a recent interview on the April 1 episode of the YouTube show “Salon Drip, ” hosted by Jang Do-yeon, he shared candid insights regarding his creative process and the expectations tied to album production.

When queried about his direct influence on the album, Kai revealed, “Since it’s been a long wait, I thought deeply about what fans would like. They enjoy my versatile sides – sexy, fresh, and more – so I tried to incorporate diverse concepts.” This statement highlights his commitment to meeting fan expectations while showcasing his artistic range.
He elaborated that the concept for the pre-release single was entirely his idea, admitting, “I even pushed hard for the pre-release single.” This demonstrates his proactive stance in shaping the direction of his music.
In a light-hearted moment, Jang Do-yeon asked about the potential for fan backlash if the new tracks didn’t resonate well. Kai humorously confessed, “That actually happens a lot. People blame SM, but sometimes it was my call…” He added with a laugh, “I used to brag about albums before their release, but now I quietly await reactions before discussing them.” This shows his growth as an artist who takes accountability for his creative choices.

With “Wait On Me”, Kai marks his first musical release following his military service. Renowned for his powerful performances and innovative sound, fans can expect a showcase of his multifaceted artistry, both vocally and visually. The album is set to be available on all leading music platforms at 6 PM KST on March 21.
