To complete the mission Exegesis, you will need to locate Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard.The mission is very detailed and will expose you to a new mechanism that will aid you in advancing through the various parts of this mission.Therefore, the following is a guide on how to successfully accomplish the Exegesis mission in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.How to Complete the Exegesis Mission in Destiny 2: The Final ShapeIn order to initiate the Exegesis mission in Destiny 2, you must first travel to the Pale Heart and launch it from the campaign mission node located there. If you prefer, you can also launch it from the activity banner at the Old Tower within the Pale Heart of the Traveler, but this is only possible if you are starting the campaign from the beginning.BungieYou can launch the Exegesis mission from this node in the game.During this mission, you will encounter the following steps:Pick up the Crystalline keyTo begin the Exegenis mission in Destiny 2, you must retrieve a Crystalline key and place it in the designated area next to the gate. As there are few enemies in this area, you can easily obtain the key and transport it to the gate. Once it is deposited, the gate will automatically open.Remember that the key is a heavy object, so it may limit your movement. Although this may not be a problem in the beginning, there will be sections in the mission where you will need to use the key in areas crowded with enemies, so proceed with caution.Unlock the Darkness barrierOnce you’ve successfully unlocked the door, you will encounter another locked door that is guarded by a barrier of Darkness. In order to remove the barrier, you must cleanse the plate located next to it.Whenever a weapon is used to defeat a named Hive Knight, Dark motes will be dropped. However, if the Aegis is used to defeat the knight, Light motes will be dropped instead.To complete this task, you will not require any Light motes. Instead, defeat the Hive Knight, gather three Dark motes, and stand on the plate. This will trigger the door to open and allow you to continue.BungieThe Crystalline key is a heavy object.Clear the viewUpon reaching the large room beyond the Darkness barrier, you will encounter a view obscured by Corruption. To eliminate this Corruption, you must shoot three orbs. The first orb is situated on the same floor as the Corruption, directly behind it. The other two orbs can be found on the floor above.To clear this Corruption, you must first defeat multiple Dread enemies. Once the enemies have been defeated and the Corruption cleared, the Aegis will spawn in the center of the room.Once the room has been cleared, you will gain access to the lower section. In order to progress to the next area of the Exegenesis mission in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, you will need to repeat the mote deposit mechanic.Solve the plate puzzleUpon leaving the large room, you will enter an area where a Prismatic Subjugator will appear. There is a Prismatic well that spawns on the outer ledge, allowing you to charge your Transcendence bar if it is not already full.BungieDefeating an enemy with your weapons will drop Dark motes.Once you have finished clearing out this area, you will be led to another section where you will find four plates: two Light and two Dark.To obtain a Light mote, you must use the Aegis as a weapon to defeat the enemies, just like in previous encounters. However, to access the Aegis, you must first open the door next to the Light plate.Therefore, proceed to the door and follow the passage to the right. Direct your attention to the left wall, and you will come across a crevasse where the Crystalline Key can be found.To solve the puzzle, first pick up the Aegis and then continue by bringing it out. Here’s a step-by-step guide:Once the Aegis is brought out, proceed to defeat the designated Hive Knight and gather three Light motes.Take it to the first Light plate that you see and stand on the plate. If you are standing on the correct plate, a bright beam of light will be visible, but if the plate is incorrect, dark beams will appear along the edges.The number of beams on the edge indicates the order in which you need to deposit the motes on the plate. The deposit order follows a clockwise direction, starting with Light and alternating with Dark. This means that after depositing the motes on the first Light plate, the Dark motes will be placed on the Dark plate to the right of the current Light plate.Successfully solving this puzzle will grant you access to a brand new Prismatic Chest as well as the next area.Scan Ikora’s shipAfter entering the clearing, you will immediately see Ikora’s crashed ship from Exogenis. Make your way up the ship and engage with it.Ikora will prompt you to meet her at the Cradle through a brief dialogue. Move away from the ship and follow the marker to locate the Aegis and the Ogre boss known as the Pillar of Silence.To break the Ogre’s shield, wait for the Aegis super bar to fill up and then use it. Once the shield is broken, begin damaging the boss. When its health has been reduced by 33%, it will disappear.BungieThe Aegis shield is very important in the Exegesis mission.Follow the marker until you reach a cavern with a designated Rally zone. Once there, rally to the Banner you have previously placed and proceed into the cavern. The Aegis can be found here, but refrain from picking it up for now.To trigger another damage phase, successfully defeat the enemies and activate the Darkness plate before picking up the Aegis and heading to the Light plate, which will bring back the Ogre once again.Utilize the Aegis to shatter the Ogre’s shield, and subsequently attack him with whichever weapons you possess. You will need to repeat this process during the final damage phase, which concludes once his health has been drained.Reach IkoraOnce you have exited this area, you will reach an open zone where the Tree of Silver Wings can be seen in the distance. Head towards the Rally Zone and as you initiate the encounter, a large number of Dread will appear.While eliminating the enemies, you will spot Ikora on a ledge with a Prismatic well located directly behind her. Take position in the well and defeat all the enemies that appear, including the Tormentor.Once you have completed the task, make sure to speak with Ikora.
