Tech influencer Daniel, who is widely recognized as ZONEofTECH, experienced a startling incident with his Samsung Galaxy Ring—its battery unexpectedly swelled while he wore it, making removal impossible.
In a post dated September 29 on X, Daniel shared this alarming ordeal, noting that the troubling situation unfolded just as he was preparing to board a flight. He expressed his distress, stating, “My Samsung Galaxy Ring’s battery started swelling while it’s on my finger and while I’m about to board a flight, ” and lamented the discomfort caused by the device that he couldn’t seem to take off.
His post quickly gained traction, amassing over 14 million views within a day, bolstered by attached images that clearly displayed the Galaxy Ring still enveloped around his finger.

Hospital Visit Leads to Ring Removal
Following this incident, Daniel provided an update, relaying that he was unable to board his flight due to the circumstances surrounding his smart ring. After nearly 47 hours of travel, he found it necessary to secure a hotel for the night. Ultimately, the situation escalated to an emergency, requiring a hospital visit where medical professionals intervened to remove the afflicted ring.



Images shared in his follow-up illustrated the delineated damage, revealing the swollen battery inside the Galaxy Ring. In a decisive statement, Daniel declared he would refrain from wearing smart rings in the future.
Samsung’s Response to the Incident
Once he arrived home, Daniel took to X once more to inform his followers that Samsung had reached out in response to his predicament. He disclosed that the company took several measures to support him, including reimbursing his hotel expenses, arranging transportation for his journey home, and collecting the ring for further analysis. Thankfully, apart from some marks left on his finger by the swelling, he reported that his condition was stable.
