How to Complete the Microcosm Quest in Destiny 2: The Final Shape

To fulfill the Microcosm quest, you must finish three campaign missions in Destiny 2 The Final Shape on Cooperative Focus mode. The specified missions are listed below:

  • Ascent
  • Dissent
  • Iconoclasm

The Cooperative Focus mode requires you to join forces with at least one other Guardian through the Fireteam Finder or with a friend in order to complete this mission.

When accessing the campaign launcher inside the Pale Heart, you will notice that the missions marked with the Cooperative Focus icon have a required Power level of 2005. This indicates that you must be at this level in order to embark on the mission.

These missions can be completed in any order, but they come with additional modifiers listed below:

Glyptouched

The Glyptouched mechanic has been encountered in all campaign missions. However, in Cooperative Focus mode, only one player will be granted the Glyphtouched buff and will have the ability to interact with the Glyph spots.

Although they will not see the Glyphs after eliminating an enemy, the responsibility will fall upon the remaining team members to communicate and describe what they observe.

Berserkers

The Berserkers, who were featured in the Scourge of the Past Raid, return in Destiny 2 The Final Shape for the Microcosm Heavy Exotic Trace Rifle mission, featuring the Cooperative Focus modifier.

Whenever encountering a Berserker, a powerful area of effect attack will be unleashed, slowing you down and revealing a vulnerability on both the front and back of their body.

You and a teammate must simultaneously shoot the two weak points, which will deactivate the immunity shields on two Darkness Cruxes within the zone. It is necessary for both you and your teammate to shoot these Cruxes simultaneously once again.

If you continuously fail to do so, the encounter will activate the wiping mechanism, requiring you to restart from the initial stage.

Fractured By the Witness

When playing with the Cooperative Focus modifier, one player will randomly be affected by the Fractured debuff when completing any of the three missions.

This debuff will accumulate with each occurrence and once it reaches x7, it will render you immobile. However, at this stage, you can still interact with other players and obtain this debuff for your own use.

Essentially, you must manage this debuff until you reach the completion of the objective. It’s important to remember that if the debuff accumulates to x10, it will result in your death.

Microcosm

The two distinctive features of the Microcosm Heavy Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2 are what make it stand out.

  • This is the first Heavy Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2.
  • This is the only Heavy Trace Rifle in Destiny 2 that deals Kinetic damage.

In addition, this weapon also has the following capabilities:

  • The weapon trait, Paracausal Imbuement, grants Super energy upon delivering final blows. Additionally, this weapon gains increased damage once your Super has elapsed.
  • The Paracausal Beam (Intrinsic Perk) emits a powerful Kinetic light beam, inflicting significant extra damage on shields.

During your exploration of the Pale Heart, be sure to gather the Hunter’s Journal and any Prismatic Fragments you encounter throughout the game.
