Yuta’s Struggle with Gojo’s Ultimate Attack Against Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen: Deconstructed in Chapter 262 Part 2

The second part of chapter 262 of Jujutsu Kaisen was released this week as a continuation of the previous chapter, as author Gege Akutami faced health issues. This leaked chapter revealed more advancements in the intense fight between Ryomen Sukuna and Yuta Okkotsu, who were both inside Satoru Gojo’s body. The previous chapter left readers on a cliffhanger, with Sukuna being halted by Inumaki Toge and Yuta preparing to unleash Gojo’s signature move, Hollow Purple. However, this turn of events could spell trouble for the young sorcerer.

As demonstrated in both parts of this Jujutsu Kaisen chapter, Yuta is still struggling to adapt to using Gojo’s body. This could potentially put him at a disadvantage in the upcoming fight. Despite Sukuna’s weakened state, his immense power and recent battles against Gojo and Yuta suggest that the Hollow Purple attack may not be as effective as Yuta hopes it will be, especially given his limited control over his Cursed Energy.

Please note: This article includes spoilers for the series.

Explaining why Yuta’s use of Gojo’s Hollow Purple might fail against Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen

The recently released chapter 262.5 ended with a crucial cliffhanger, as Toge Inumaki finally made an appearance in the manga and used his Cursed Technique to immobilize Ryomen Sukuna. This created an opportunity for Yuta, who is currently inhabiting Satoru Gojo’s body, to unleash the powerful Hollow Purple and potentially defeat the King of Curses. However, there is a high likelihood that Yuta’s attack will not be successful due to various factors.

In that chapter, Gojo revealed one of the reasons for Yuta’s struggle through a flashback. He pointed out that Yuta’s Cursed Energy output was erratic, as seen during his battle with Sukuna. Yuta’s mental state is currently unstable and he appears to be struggling against the King of Curses, a stark contrast to Gojo’s typically composed demeanor during fights.

While Gojo’s Hollow Purple typically merges two circles, symbolizing the combination of his Red and Blue attacks, the cliffhanger in chapter 262.5 reveals that Yuta’s Hollow Purple does not merge the circles. This may hint at Yuta’s eventual failure, as depicted by author Gege Akutami.

As previously mentioned, it is highly likely that the upcoming chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen will feature Sukuna resisting the Hollow Purple blast. This could be due to the blast not being as powerful as Gojo’s, or it could show Yuta failing to execute it due to his inexperience and the inconsistent nature of Cursed Energy. However, it is highly unlikely that Yuta will be the one to defeat Sukuna at this moment in time.

The Domain clash is expected to end in three minutes, after which Yuta’s well-being will need to be addressed as his possession of Gojo’s body is limited to five minutes. Additionally, there is the potential for Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo to rejoin the battle, as well as the ongoing confrontation between Uraume and Hakari, which Akutami has yet to fully explore.

Concluding Thoughts

Despite speculation from fans, it is highly probable that the upcoming chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen will depict Yuta Okkotsu’s struggle against Sukuna due to his current physical condition. This may result in his unsuccessful use of the Hollow Purple attack.
