NewJeans Receives Plaque of Appointment as Korean Tourism Honorary Ambassador

On July 11th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism named NewJeans as the Honorary Ambassador for Korean Tourism in 2024 and presented the girl group with a plaque to commemorate their appointment.

In order to reach the global 2030 generation, NewJeans was selected as the Honorary Ambassador for Korean Tourism this year.

In the previous year, 35.6% of the international visitors to Korea were below the age of 30 and 84% of them traveled independently. Notably, the primary motivator for their fascination with visiting Korea was “After being exposed to Korean Wave media”(32.1%).

The advertisements showcase a unique and authentic Korean experience, referred to as “Koreans’ Korea.”This concept involves locals introducing hidden gems that cannot be found through online searches. The ads feature activities such as visiting traditional markets, trying gimbap with tteokbokki sauce, indulging in cup noodles after hiking, and enjoying chungmu gimbap at the beach.
